Start your journey at Level 1—

Reiki Level 1 is a paced course (with an in-person option) that unfolds over a matter of weeks. Level 1 is a practitioner's initiation into Reiki and is open to anyone.

The focus during Level 1 is on opening the energy channels on a physical level, allowing the practitioner to connect to the universal life force energy, which flows from the collective energy field through the crown of the head and down to the heart and hands for their own self-healing.

At Modern Reiki, we believe that this is a journey. It’s a daily devotion that creates full embodiment of each concept. Reiki is not a quick fix—it’s a way of being.

In Reiki Level 1, you’ll learn—

  • the history of Reiki, an overview of all of the Reiki levels & the guiding principles of Reiki

  • an extensive chakra system overview and proven practices to clear your energetic field

  • a guide to craft your personal invocation and prayer to connect daily with the collective energy field

  • the hand placements for your self-Reiki practice

  • the Level 1 protocol to begin practicing Reiki with your friends and family

  • ongoing ways to maintain your balance and regulation in your nervous system to allow you to expand

  • access to resources overviewing the scientific validity of energy healing techniques

  • your Reiki Level 1 certification

  • an extensive Reiki Level 1 Guidebook to use as reference as you continue on your journey

Reiki Level 1 provides you with a foundational understanding of the chakra system, educates you on the energetic connection between mind, body and spirit and a powerful and potent hands-on technique and meditation practice to promote healing, elevated health and overall enhanced well-being in yourself and others.

You learn how to connect to your own inner compass for massive clarity and the ability to be comfortable in stillness.

To receive your certification, you must be Attuned.

A Reiki Attunement is a ceremony or process in which a Reiki Master or teacher initiates a student into the practice of Reiki.

During a Reiki Attunement, the Reiki Master uses rituals, symbols, and energetic transmissions to empower the student's ability to connect with and channel Reiki energy. At Modern Reiki, we guide the student through meditation, visualization, and the use of specific hand positions.

The Attunement opens and cleanses the student's energy channels, enhancing their sensitivity to Reiki energy and enabling them to act as a conduit for its flow. It's a deeply spiritual experience, where students may feel sensations of warmth, tingling, or a sense of peace and clarity. Over the past five years, we have yet to see a student have a similar experience, they are all so sacred and unique.

FAQs

  • Reiki Level 1 is for everyone. In Level 1 you learn profound self-healing techniques to calm the nervous system, activate your powerful intuition, and basic practices to integrate into your career, business, family, and personal relationships.

  • One of the most important aspects of the first degree of Reiki is the attunement process. Attunements are a ritual that allows the student to connect with the Reiki energy and become a channel for it. This is done by the Reiki Master, who will place their hands on various points of the student's body and perform a series of symbols and mantras.

  • No. This is the introductory and beginner course for anyone interested in pursuing an energetic healing practice for their own healing journey or the first step in becoming a Reiki practitioner for others.

  • You will receive your certificate stating that you’re officially proficient in Reiki Level 1 after your sacred Attunement ceremony and confirmation that you have completed all four weeks of virtual training.

  • After your Attunement ceremony, You will start a 21 day cleansing and detoxification cycle through the chakras. The Reiki Attunement has a powerful healing influence on the mind, body and spirit, activating all seven chakras, beginning with the root, and ending at the crown chakra — each one taking approximately twenty-four hours. This happens three times.
